Alamance Arts offers scholarship for art students

   GRAHAM — Each year, Alamance Arts offers scholarship for students planning to further their education in one of the arts disciplines. Four scholarships are awarded in the amount of $500 each. Those eligible must be a resident of Alamance County, a high school senior (or equivalent) with acceptance pending in a college/university or other institution of higher learning for the purpose of earning a major degree in an arts discipline.
Application requirements include a completed application (available from Alamance Arts), cover letter requesting consideration for the scholarship, a letter of recommendation from a teacher, private instructor or director in your discipline, an official copy of your most recent high school transcript and two or three pieces of artwork or one performance piece should be submitted on a DVD.
Applicants will have their work juried by an expert in the applicant’s discipline. Deadline to apply is April 2. For more details, call (336) 226-4495.
