Each year, Burlington Academy of Dance and Arts (BADA) showcases its dancers in a weekend of performances. This year, we are presenting two of the classics — “Around the World in 80 Days” and “The Sound of Music.”
“Around the World in 80 Days” is a showcase of various genres and techniques highlighting Kindermotions, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Modern and Acro dance styles.
The closing performance will be “The Sound of Music.” Meet the talented Von Trapp family: Maria, Mother Abbess, the Sisters of the Austrian Abbey and the many other characters of the story. Not only will you see these fabulous roles performed by dancers, but you also will get to hear them as BADA will be featuring live singers from our local community.
“Around the World in 80 Days” will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018, and Saturday, May 26, in McCrary Theatre on the Elon University campus. Tickets are $14 and can be purchased at the door. “The Sound of Music” will be at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, May 27, in McCrary Theatre on the Elon University campus. Tickets are $16 and can also be purchased at the door.

Grace Danieley is a senior at Western Alamance High School and Bella Exum is a rising junior at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
