Band of the Week: Western Alamance High School

Name: The Western Alamance High School All-American Brigade Marching Band
Director: Michael Jefferson
Highlights from last year: Last year was Mr. Jefferson’s first year as Western High’s band director. The seniors and upperclassmen stepped up to help with the transition of a new band director last year.
From the director: “I am only the third director in the school’s 50-year history. Mr. Eddie Harris started the Western Band program almost 50 years ago, and he built a legacy that most band directors do not have the opportunity to inherit. My predecessor, David Nebrig, continued that legacy and was a hard act to follow. He’s just one of those guys you can’t help but like. Thanks to Mr. Harris and Mr. Nebrig, the Western band program is one of the most respected band programs in the state. We have great students and parents in the band at Western and I am thrilled to be a part of such a rich band tradition. I hope to continue that tradition.”Jefferson said.
