Burlington Christian Academy to perform ‘Steel Magnolias’


Burlington Christian Academy’s Royal Players will perform “Steel Magnolias” at 7:30 p.m. March 30-31 at the Paramount Theater, 128 E. Front St., Burlington.

Robert Harling’s well-loved play, which later became a movie starring Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis and Julia Roberts, will be directed by Ashley Phipps, a 2008 graduate of Meredith College and stage manager will be¬†Hayley Billings, a junior at Burlington Christian Academy.

Morgan Troxler, a freshman, will portray Annelle; Libbie Coley, freshman, will play Truvy; Veronica Dodson, senior, will play Clairee; Hannah Beaddles, junior, will¬†play Shelby; Taylor Sharpe, junior, as M’Lynn and Mackenzie Rackley, junior, as Ouiser.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for seniors and can be ordered at the Paramount box office between noon and 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and credit card reservations can be made at (336) 222-TIXS.
