Documentary screening set for Feb. 21

ELON – A screening of the documentary “Las Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo and the Search for Identity” will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in McEwen 011. The screening is free and open to the public.

The film focuses on the question “Is the right to know who you are a basic human right?” More than 40 in-depth interviews, historical material and literature make up the film in hopes of educating people about what happened in Argentina during The Dirty War, when a military dictatorship controlled the country. During 1976-1983, more than 30,000 people were tortured and killed, including pregnant women and new mothers.
