First-ever David ‘Chub’ Gerner memorial golf tournament is June 8


   WHITSETT – The first-ever David “Chub” Gerner Memorial Golf Tournament will be June 8 at Brookwood Golf Course, 1753 Hwy. 61. It is four-person Captain’s Choice with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Cost is $50 per person and includes 4 mulligans and lunch. Cash prizes will be given to the three first places as well as closest to the pin, long drive and raffles. First place team will take home $400, $280 for second place and $200 for third place. Hole sponsorships are $50 in honor or in memory of an individual. Proceeds will be divided between Hospice of Alamaance and Caswell County and the outreach program at Life’s Journey United Church of Christ. Deadline to enter is June 1.
