Horror Show a scary good time

SNOW CAMP — Horror is real and scary at the Original Hollywood Horror Show.
It is created and run by brothers, Dean and Starr Jones, who are professional makeup artists for many Hollywood movies and TV shows, including “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Star Trek.”
You will begin your horror adventure at the main attraction of the haunted house. When you enter the house you will meet your guide, a nun, and they will explain the rules and then they send you through. The house is enormous and it goes from being inside to outside, then through forest and graveyards.
The house has many shortcuts and secret places where the actors can pop out and scare you. They even have some of your favorite horror characters such as Leatherface and Michael Myers. The house will take around 15 minutes to get through, but it feels like it’s a never-ending maze of walkways and rooms that finally stops with the greatest scare saved for last, but you will have to go to the show to find out.
Not only do they have a haunted house, but they have attractions to watch while you are waiting in line. One of these is a magic show where they summon the ghost of Harry Houdini. Also, while you are wait, they have some of the actors walking around dressed up as clowns and skeletons to give you a scare. After you finish the house tour, there are other things to do. For example, you can visit the museum and gift shop to learn a little bit about the Jones brothers. There also is a simulator called the Last Ride that puts you through the process of being put in a coffin and then buried. So, it’s not your everyday haunted house. It has so much more to do and it is a scary good time.
The Original Hollywood Horror Show is located at 6333 Bass Mountain Road, Snow Camp. Hours are 8 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on all other nights. The show will be open Friday through Sunday; and Oct. 18-31 and Nov. 1-3. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at hollywoodhorrorshow.com/.
