SNOW CAMP — Picture this: you’re standing outside in the dark with typically spooky music playing. A few scary faces wander around the premises, through the lines, the gift shop and the concession stand. You’re waiting to enter the Original Hollywood Horror Show and the ambience is the perfect Halloween mood. The air is chilly, so you cling tighter to the friends that forced you to come to this attraction in the first place.
Your turn to go through the show finally arrives and you step into the tent that starts the show with anticipation overflowing. A gathering of nuns surround you, as they prep you for the walk through the famed Horror Show. A body in an open coffin lies nearby, and you’re unsure whether or not it’s real. You follow a nun into the house and darkness immediately envelops you, so much so that you nearly run into the person in front of you trying to keep up. The different rooms inside, as well as the pathways outside are full of people and props. The scariest part is trying to differentiate between the two. You never know what will start breathing and jump at you and what will not. That uncertainty keeps you on your toes the entire time.
Overall, the show is detailed and is good for those who don’t want to be scared out of their wits, because the actors in this show aren’t permitted to touch you as you go through the attraction. Showtimes are 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 8 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Two additional shows, on Nov. 6-7, have been added. Tickets are $20 per person.
