GREENSBORO — Wet ’n Wild Emerald Pointe Water Park is an exciting and fun place for a family to spend the day together. From the children’s play area to the thrilling water rides, there are more than 36 rides and attractions, guaranteeing a good time for all ages.
One of the biggest attractions is the wave pool, which holds up to 1.9 million gallons of water, making it the largest in the United States. The wave pool brings in thousands of people to the water park each year.
Another great attraction is Dr. Von Dark’s Tunnel of Terror, which takes you and your partner (you ride in pairs) through a dark tunnel, with the exception of flashing lights. Thousands of people come to the Tunnel of Terror each year to experience the fun, exciting thrill.
Emerald Pointe has been rated in the top 10 greatest water parks for the past five years, as well as the top 15 on CNN. The water park also has received a safety award for the past 11 years straight.
Sure, keeping cool in the sweltering heat is why most of the people are there, but it’s good to note that if you get hungry, well, there are several options to choose from including pizza, pasta and Chinese food, along with ice cream and slushies.
Emerald Pointe Water Park is located at 3910 South Holden Road. It is open Memorial Day until Labor Day; hours for June are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and hours for July and August are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Admission is $34.99 for adults, $23.99 for seniors and admission is free for children 2 and under. Military personnel receive $7 off. If you have a Food Lion MVP card, tickets are $5 off every person up to six people in your group.
