BYC looking for volunteers

   The Burlington Youth Council (BYC) is a community service organization that meets the needs of Alamance/Burlington middle and high school students. BYC offers suggestions of programs and activities at Thataways Youth Center as well as volunteering for various events and programs throughout Alamance County. To become a member of BYC, students must be enrolled in a school in Alamance County and maintain satisfactory grades and must attend meetings and events on a regular basis. Meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month at 6 p.m. at Thataways Youth Center, 1334 Overbrook Road, Burlington.     High school and college writers, photographers and artists are needed to complete our award-winning youth page each Monday. We’re looking for volunteers from Alamance and the surrounding counties. Find out more about this group during the annual orientation party from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Times-News office,707 S. Main St., Burlington. Teens & Twenties’ annual orientation party will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Times-News breakroom, 707 S. Main St., Burlington. This award-winning, all-volunteer youth page is open to all high school and college students in and around Alamance County. We are looking for talented writers, photographers and artists.
