Performers needed for Snow Camp outdoor dramas

SNOW CAMP – Local auditions for the Snow Camp Outdoor Theatre’s summer productions will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. April 28-29 at the Shoffner Building, located at the Snow Camp Historic Site, 301 Drama Road.

Employment for actors will be from June 24 through Aug. 18. Some of the acting positions for ”The Sword of Peace”  include Bertha Morris, a loud, domineering character; Colonel Fanning and Governor Martin, Herman Husbands, Servant Major, townspeople, Quakers, American soldiers, Regulators, British soldiers, camp followers, Dixon children and dancers.

Families are encouraged to audition. Some of the roles for the African-American drama “Pathway to Freedom,” about the Underground Railroad, include a female child between the ages of 6 and 9 to play the role of Mary, a young African-American male child between the ages of 6 and 9 to play Joshua. And adult African-American females are needed to play the roles of Hannah, Annie, Hattie, Aggie and African-American males are needed for the roles of Alfred, Aaron, Nate and Big Dan.
