The Burlington School is bringing all of your favorite Dr. Seuss stories to life on  stage at the Paramount Theater.
It’s “Seussical the Musical Jr.” where many of Dr. Seuss’ books are included in one  musical review. The show stars characters like the Cat in the Hat, Horton the  Elephant, Yertle the Turtle, The Grinch and so many more. The entire cast and  production crew is made up of kids from first grade through high school seniors at  The Burlington School.
Bethany Baker, drama teacher at the Burlington, will be directing her 19th spring  show with the school. Enjoy great music, singing, clever humor and energetic  dancing in a unique musical that takes you back to your childhood.
Baker dedicates the spring production to those who demonstrate the virtues of a  graduate of The Burlington School (TBS). This year, the spring musical will be  dedicated to Rachel Johnson, who attended TBS (Burlington Day School and The  Elon School at the time) from kindergarten through the end of high school. She  channeled her love of writing and play into a creative business called Brewed Clues,  which incorporates a scavenger hunt of clues into a quest for local craft ales in  Raleigh. She has expanded the business to Charlotte, and has plans for other  locations in North Carolina.
“I frequently get to answer phone calls (in the voice of a) character, so you could  say that my background in theater at The Burlington School had more than a small  impact on what I do now,” Johnson said.

Show times are 7 p.m. May 12-13 and 2 p.m. May 14, 2017, at the Paramount Theater, 128 E. Front St., Burlington. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased between noon and 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and one hour prior to show time. Credit card reservations can be made by calling 336-222-TIXS.

Will Self is a seventh-grader at The Burlington School.
