The Burlington School plans to “rock” its way into summer vacation. The Rock Ensemble’s Spring Festival will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, in the school’s parking lot, 408 W. Davis Street, Burlington. Three rock groups, all under the direction of teacher/performer Lucius Wilson, will hold a rock festival free to the public.
Student musicians will perform multiple sets of rock tunes from AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Eric Clapton, among others, throughout the afternoon. Alumni will return and jam with current students and the faculty also will get in on the act.
“The Burlington School is that family who celebrates the success of its members. It’s not just playing an instrument; it is about playing on a team. We unleash talent and confidence by performing our music,” Wilson said.
Other student groups will take part in running the festival; there will be multiple booths, including Henna tattoos and games.
Bring a friend, your chair, and, of course, your dancin’ shoes. For more information, call (336) 228-0296 or (336) 395-8550.
