Silent auction fundraiser planned for Hawbridge School

   SAXAPAHAW — “Sparkle and Shine,” a silent auction fundraiser for the Hawbridge School, will be from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 11, 2013, at the Haw River Ballroom, 1711 Saxapahaw Bethlehem Church Road. The Eddy Pub will serve hors d’oeuvres; desserts and sweets will be created by local chefs and Tom Maxwell, formerly of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, will perform.
Tickets are $15 per person and includes entry in a raffle to win an iPad. Beer, coffee drinks and non-alcoholic beverages also will be available for purchase. The event is presented by Roxy Farms Antiques and the Hawbridge School. Proceeds will help purchase computers for students at the Hawbridge School, a charter and nonprofit learning school focused on providing an enriching arts and environmental stewardship curriculum for those in sixth- through twelfth-grade.
