Smashwords a great site for book lovers

In this technological age, it seems as if books have merged into the new era of e-books.

While some may protest this transition, it has made sharing stories and novels easier. Many budding writers have started putting their writing on sites such as Smashwords.

Smashwords is a site where people upload their stories and books and make them available to anyone who desires to read. They are put into subcategories, such as historical or young adult, and then categorized by length of the story and price. Many of the stories on Smashwords are free, while others are priced at less than $1.

A unique feature on the Smashwords website is the Prude Filter. We all know that some romance novels include sex and other things we might not want to read about, and the Prude Filter, which is activated with one click, allows all books with sexual undercurrents or themes to be erased from the offered titles.

Using the Prude Filter is fast and easy, and it’s a safe way to know you are getting clean titles.

Smashwords’ e-books can be downloaded to your computer, iPod or Smartphone with the download options at the time of purchase or choice of a free e-book.

To help these emerging authors improve or to just boot morale, you can always post a review like any other book site. This is a safe and wallet-friendly way to read books and get a feel for new authors.
