Spookywoods will make you scream

ARCHDALE — Spookywoods’ goal is to make every visitor “scream” before he or she leaves the woods.
It takes creativity to do this and through special effects, makeup and the sheer fear of what may be lurking in the dark, the haunted attraction accomplishes its goal.
Of course, not everyone can be scared by the same things, so there’s a variety of spooky attractions. Costumed characters jumping out from the dark, shaky floors and blood — all of it is combined with the intent of scaring even the bravest souls.
Spookywoods takes the guest’s experience into consideration. A DJ played popular music, so the wait in line wasn’t boring. And a trolley transports guests from one section of the grounds to another so the walking doesn’t get tiresome.
The website urges visitors to go to the haunted house, get a picture with a scary character and post it on social media. There were plenty of “creatures” looking to visit and intimidate visitors, so make sure you do this on your visit.
And hurry, the event will end soon.
Spookywoods is open from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 24, 2019; 7:30 p.m. to midnight Oct. 25; 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 till 1 a.m. Oct. 27; 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 27; and 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 30-Nov. 2 at 1615 Kersey Valley Road.
