N.C. State Fair: 9 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. today; 8 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Tuesday; 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 9 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Friday; and 8 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, N.C. State Fairgrounds, 1025 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh. Advance tickets are $8 for adults 13 to 64 years old and $3 for children 6 to 12 years old. Tickets at the gate are $10 for adults 13 to 64 years old; $5 for children ages 6 to 12; $6 for those with military ID; Free for children 5 and younger, seniors 65 years old and up, and adult groups of 40 or more and children groups of 40 or more. www.ncstatefair.org or 919-821-7400
Gipsy Danger: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday underneath the shelter at Haw River Municipal Park, 1130 Pine St., Haw River. Admission is free and the show is rain or shine. Be sure to bring blankets and/or chairs for seating. For more details, call 336-578-5600.
