Williams High School offers open house, spring carnival

¬† ¬†Williams High School’s 2018 Visual Arts Festival Open House will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Williams High School gymnasium, 1307 S. Church St., Burlington.
The event will feature work from art, photography, pottery, sculpture and videography students. Hydroponics art is in conjunction with Your Local Greens. Canvas art is made possible by the Burlington Woman’s Club grant. Guest artists will be available to demonstrate and sell their work.

Band Boosters hold spring carnival

The Band Boosters of Williams High School and Turrentine Middle Schools will hold a spring carnival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 12 on the front lawn of Williams High School, 1307 S. Church St., Burlington.
The event will feature a bounce house, obstacle course, slide, dunk tank and bungee run; contests such as tug of war, knockerball, relay races, team events and an old-fashioned cake walk along with face painting and music. Food trucks will include Bull City Street Food, Jay’s Italian Ice and Hot Diggity Dog NC.

Cost is $12 in advance at www.wwhsband.org or $15 at the gate. Proceeds will help the band raise money for new instruments.
