Woodlawn Middle School will perform ‘Fame! Jr.’

MEBANE — Woodlawn Middle School will present David De Silva’s “Fame! Jr.” at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at the Eastern Alamance High School Auditorium, 4040 Mebane Rogers Road.
It takes place at New York City’s High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street. The musical follows a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of artistic and academic work. “Fame Jr.” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
” ‘In ‘Fame! Jr.,’ the characters discover it takes much more than talent to achieve their goals, they must find their true artistic voice, build up their confidence, learn how to collaborate well and work very, very hard,” said Elizabeth Zint, a cultural arts teacher and director of the show. “The Woodlawn students are exhibiting these same life skills and discipline through their process of staging ‘Fame! Jr.’ We hope that Alamance and Orange counties give them a standing ovation for all their hard work,” Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and can be purchased at the door.
